South Jersey – A diverse coalition of community groups, environmental organizations, progressive and libertarian activists came together today in strong opposition to the proposed AI data storage center in East Greenwich.
Led by David Lam, representatives from CRAN, SJDSA, the Food and Water Network, South Jersey Progressive Democrats, and the South Jersey Libertarian Chapter gathered in support of East Greenwich Grassroots. The groups united around shared concerns over property rights and the protection of publicly owned land.
Attendees highlighted the potential negative impacts of the project on local residents and emphasized legal violations that are frequently overlooked during municipal approval processes for large-scale developments of this kind.
“Corporations and businesses should not be exempt from the same neighborly considerations, ordinances, and laws that apply to the rest of us.”, stated Libertarian Sam Ross, “We stand united in defense of property rights and the responsible stewardship of our community and its public lands.”
The coalition pledged to continue working together to ensure that any development in East Greenwich respects the rights of residents and protects the character of the community.
